6 PORTRAITS TO HUGH JACKMAN

This content series is my attempt at solving the ultimate photographer catch-22.

To book a celebrity shoot, you first need a celebrity portrait in your portfolio. But to get a celebrity portrait in your portfolio, you first need to first book a celebrity shoot.

They say you’re no more than 6 social connections from anyone. So leaning into the 6 degrees of separation theory, my plan is naively simple: photograph each degree of separation between myself and Hugh Jackman, ending with a portrait of the legend himself.

This is episode 1 of however-many-it-takes. We kick things off with Maria Lewis. She's an author, screenwriter, film curator, pop culture entomologist, and X-Men tattoo wearer. In other words, the absolutely best person to kickstart this outrageous little portrait series.
